Step 2: You Answer

The answer input is a text field. No timer — write at whatever pace you need. That said, calibrating your answer length is itself part of the practice.

Step 4: The Loop Continues

After feedback, the next question generates. The cycle repeats — question, answer, feedback — until one of three things happens:

  1. You reach the session's question limit (5 for Quick, 11 for Standard, 20 for Full)
  2. You manually choose to finish early and view your summary
  3. You start a new interview with a fresh question set

The AI tracks everything across the session. It won't repeat a question you've already answered. If you gave a weak answer on conflict resolution, it may return to conflict-adjacent questions later in the session from a different angle. If your behavioral answers have been consistently strong, technical depth questions will increase.


Three Controls During the Session

You have three options at any point during an interview:

Start New Interview — Ends the current session and generates a completely new question set for the same job. Use this when you want fresh questions, you've changed your coach mode or topic preference, or the current question set isn't calibrated well to your target. Note: this uses one of your session credits.

Retake Interview — Runs the exact same questions again, but you give new answers. The key advantage: you can compare your new answers directly against your previous ones. This is how you verify actual improvement rather than just feeling like you've gotten better. Retakes don't consume additional session credits.

Finish and View Summary — Ends the session at any point and generates your final report. You don't have to complete all questions. Finishing after 8 of 11 questions is fine — your report will note the completion rate, but the feedback from the questions you did answer is fully analyzed and included.


After the Session: The Report

When the session ends, the AI generates a final report. The report summarizes:

  • Your answer scores by question
  • Pattern feedback — what issues appeared consistently across multiple answers (structural, specificity, or ownership gaps that show up repeatedly rather than in a single response)
  • A competency breakdown — where you're strong and where the most improvement is needed

Is there a time limit for answering each question?

No. There's no timer on individual answers. You can take as long as you need to formulate a complete response. The session does auto-save if you're inactive for 30 minutes, but there's no penalty for taking time to think. Can I skip a question I don't know how to answer?
